Hi All,

On Saturday Sept 13th the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is sponsoring a "Cycle For Life" ride in Cromwell. This will be the first time it is run in this area. Christine Urciuofi, the Development Director has ask the Members of the Middlesex Amateur Radio Society for assistance in providing communications for the SAG vehicles and the "rest-stop" stations along the route. We will need volunteers and equipment to man the command center, the SAG vehicles, and the rest stations.

At the current time I have the following information:

1. When: Saturday, Sept 13th. Check-in, 7:00am; Start, 8:00am

2. Start and end point. Far end of Sebethe Drive, Cromwell (event address; 7
Progress Drive, Cromwell)

3. Three rides; 10 mile, 30 mile, and 60 mile.

4. Rest Stops every 10-12 Miles (bike Mechanics and ride Marshals)

5. QUANTIY of Ham Operators required:

TWO: at control center.

One to operate radio(s) and one to handle messages to and from organizers
(Radio(s), good antenna system, power)
(We will use the Club Comm Trailer if no space is available at Event
Control Tent to setup)

FOUR: One for each SAG vehicle with radio and mag mount antenna.
(hand-held or mobil radio)

SIX: One for each Rest Stop with radio, antenna and power (battery or
generator).

Our target requirement is TWELVE operators.

- (Don says they now NEED FIVE MORE opertators as of today - 8/31)

Please consider volunteering some of your time to support this event.

If you can help please contact me by phone or e-mail. (BELOW)

Many thanks to those who have already volunteered.

- As I receive information, I will keep you informed.
