Region 2 Tour Update
I am happy to report that Haddam Meadows State Park in Zone East 1, the first of my 7 scheduled meeting locations in Region 2 , was a very pleasant success. It was "the perfect day" in terms of weather and temperature and the setting, with the view across the Connecticut River, was delightful.

While there, I was able to accomplish the three primary objectives for the trip:
1) Meet with local ARES Members,
2) Answer their ARES questions,
3) Sign-off on Task Book accomplishments.

BONUS POINTS
POTA
I was able to "activate" my very first State Park in the Parks On The Air (POTA) program on HF with my new "Go Box" for HF.

Promoting Amateur Radio
Because I set up my station adjacent to one of the walking/hiking the foot paths in the park, I was also able to chat with local people as they interrupted their stroll and stopped to see what I was doing. Made some wonderful new friends, and got to tell them about Amateur Radio.


On The Road Again...
The Region 2 DEC Tour resumes on July 15 in Westbrook - Zone East 2
