Hi Everybody,
Did you know that CT ARES is now listed (with a hyperlink to www.ctares.org) on the CT.gov website?

This morning, I went to the CT DEMHS website, and did a search using "CT DEMHS"

That brought up
www.ct.gov/demhs/cwp/view.asp?a=1939&q=443360&demhsNav=|42956|

This now reflects the "new" state organizational structure with CT DEMHS as a "division" within the "Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection" (CT DESPP).

On the CT DEMHS page are listed 4 areas of responsibility for the Division.
- Operations
- Radiological Emergency Preparedness
- Telecommunications
- Urban Search & Rescue

Telecommunications
The Telecommunications Unit is headed by an Emergency Telecommunications Manager and along with a Telecommunications Engineer and Clerk; maintain all current daily agency interoperable communications systems, including video teleconferencing and emergency notification systems utilized at the State Emergency Operations Center during activations. The Communications Unit serves as a critical interoperability communications link to every DEMHS region and to our State and Federal partners.

The Communications Unit, part of the DEMHS Emergency Management Unit, is responsible for coordinating the planning and implementation of communications interoperability throughout the State.

Telecommunications is also responsible for maintenance and operation of the many communications systems which support Emergency Management functions of State and Local Government.

The DEMHS Communications Unit performs this function with the cooperation of various State and Local Agencies including the Department of Transportation, Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Public Health and Local Public Safety and Emergency Management agencies.
