CTIFOG News
The Connecticut Interoperability Field Operations Guide (CTIFOG) – an official state publication - was issued over a year ago and is due for an update.

CT ARES has two senior leaders on the CTIFOG Working Group charged with making that happen.
- This gives Connecticut Amateur Radio Emergency Service (CT ARES) an opportunity to correct, update, and/or make additions to Appendix G which contains ICS-217A worksheets for Amateur Radio Communications Resources in the 5 Regions.

The fact that the State Interoperability Committee and the CT Statewide Interoperability Coordinator (SWIC) have included CT ARES in this document makes it particularly important that we all take our role in CT ARES seriously, and work together to provide a professional level of service when called upon.

Appendix G: Connecticut Amateur Radio Emergency Service®
(Opening text)
The Connecticut Amateur Radio Emergency Service® (CT ARES®) consists of licensed amateur radio operators (also called “hams”) who have voluntarily registered their qualifications and equipment for communications duty in the public service when disaster strikes. In addition to training in emergency communications, CT ARES® encourages its members to obtain NIMS/ICS training. Many members have emergency power for their radios and also have portable “Go Boxes” allowing them to provide HF/VHF/UHF communications in deployed locations.
