Battery Capacity for VHF/UHF Radios
You are looking for a battery with sufficient Ampere Hours ("AHr" or "Ah") capacity to support the operating needs for at least one 12 hour shift
- a "Deep Cycle" battery (Sealed Lead Acid (SLA), or AGM) that not be discharged more than 50%.
OR... even BETTER
- a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery that will not be discharge more that 80%.

** ASSUMPTION: Worst case scenario **
(Your Actual Milage May Vary)

Lead Acid or AGM BATTERY
- Field Station @ 25W = Battery with capacity of 50 AHr.

- Net Control @ 25W = Battery with capacity of 150 AHr. (or, 2 batteries @ 75 AHr each.).

COMPARE WITH...

LiFEPO4 BATTERY
Will require a battery of less AHr. capacity. :)

- Field Station @ 25W = LiFEPO4 Battery with minimum rated capacity of 30 AHr.

- Net Control @ 25W = LiFEPO4 Battery with minimum capacity of 80 AHr.
(Better to get 1 x 100 AHr, OR... 2 x 50 AHr batteries)
