One of the best ways to maintain being “Mission Ready” is be “ACTIVE” and participate in scheduled Net activities. While it might sound scary, they are really “training nets”.

Participating in a weekly net not only provides a positive test of your equipment, but keeps you “in the game”. It is an easy way to become familiar with: How things work, Who the players are, and Where they are located around the state.

This is the BEST TIME to learn, because there is no stress.
Consider This:
A Real World Event is the WORST TIME to start learning basic procedures and techniques.

So, “Check-In” and get started. ;-)

FIVE Nets (3 Voice + 2 Data) that are Region 2 Specific

1) The “Readiness Net” (aka “The Ready Net”)
Monday Nights @ 7:45 pm (Woodbridge & Killingworth Repeaters)

2) The DMR Net
Tuesday evenings @ 8 pm (CT-TAC 2)

3) The RMS Express RF Net
Once a month: Send a message to KB3IXO via Packet Winlink

4) The “Classic” Packet Radio Net
Once a month: Send a message to WA1SFH

5) The ARES/Skywarn Nets
Thursdays evenings @ 7:30 pm ((Woodbridge & Killingworth Repeaters)
- New Haven County
- Middlesex County

Connecticut & the USA
DAILY National Traffic System (NTS) Nets for moving messages locally and across the country using a standard message format - the ARRL Radiogram.
These Local Nets meet on both VHF and HF.
WESCON Net @ 8:30 pm (Daily)
Prospect 147.180 MHz + 600 141.3 W1HDN
Danbury 147.120 MHz + 600 141.3 W1HDN
Vernon 145.410 MHz - 600 141.3 W1HDN

EASTCON Net @ 9 pm
Norwich 146.730MHz -600 156.7 N1NW

Connecticut Phone Net (HF)
Monday – Saturday @ 1700 EST & 1800 EDST on 3.973 MHz (+/-)
Sunday @ 1000 am (Eastern) on 3.965 MHz (+/-)
