Mount Tom Repeater Assoc. Hamfest (Chicopee, MA) Review

Highlights
- A delightful little Hamfest at a new location.

- My travel companions (Tom-K1TMM and Robert-W4RGP) had an enjoyable outing with some good conversations.

- We saw Tom N1HUI and Sharon KB1IIS from Branford (Region 2 - Central 3), and some folks I know from Region 3 and Region 5 there as well.

- I saw several TNCs and a couple of 25 watt class VHF amplifiers for sale at reasonable prices.

- However, I was disappointed not see any older 2 meter mobile radios (the ones without CTCSS tones) being sold.

These make EXCELLENT dedicated SIMPLEX radios for VHF Packet Radio (Classic Packet Radio and RMS Express). They have MORE POWER than an HT for more reliable connections, and can be purchased very inexpensively when found.
