CT ARES - REGION 2 is divided into 3 Areas, each containing 2 or 3 Zones.

We are looking for 3 ARES Team members to join our CT ARES - Region 2 Leadership Team and take on the position of
Assistant District Emergency Coordinator (ADEC) for the Area in Region 2 where they live
(i.e. West, Central, East).
Working with the Region 2 District Emergency Coordinator (DEC) as an ADEC, your primary role will be to:
a) Identify and recommend candidates for open EC positions in your AREA.
b) Be a support and resource for ECs in your AREA
c) Work with ECs to help develop a Trained - Active - Ready ARES organization in your AREA.
d) Promote and Coordinate CT ARES-Region 2 initiatives in your AREA.
e) Be a back-up for the DEC (or another Area EC) as needed.
You will be expected to participate in:
- the weekly Region 2 "Ready Net" & Region 2 "DMR Net"(Mondays)
- the weekly Section Emergency Coordinator Net (Sundays)
- the annual Simulated Emergency Test (SET)
- the annual CT DEMHS Statewide EPPI (as applicable)
- Region 2 ARES Leadership meetings
- CT ARES Leadership meetings
- Region 2 Training Workshops
Qualifications
- A strong desire to support Zone ECs and help develop the ARES program in your
AREA.
- Current membership in the ARRL
- A Technician License (or higher)
- “CORE 4” Certified
Additional Training Courses that you will be expected to complete:
- “Introduction to Emergency Communications” (ARRL EC-001)
- "Public Service and Emergency Communications Management for Radio Amateurs Course (ARRL EC-016)
- Additional ICS courses as specified
