Your participation in Public Service Events not only provide an important safety net for the organization running the event, but also gives you the opportunity to function as part of a communications team in a low stress environment… usually.
These types of activities help you build and practice communications skills necessary to function well during a “real world” event when ARES is called upon to provide emergency/disaster communications.
- Expecting to be proficient without practice is not a winning strategy.
Think about this:
Your participation is critical to providing the communications that are so needed.
Without YOU, we don’t have a team.
