JOTA 2014
REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS

What: JOTA 2014 - “Disaster in East Scoutopia”
Date: October 18
Place: BSA Camp Pomperaug, Union, CT (Exit 74, I-84 East)
Hours: 8:00 am – 5:30 pm

300 Boy Scouts!
This event centered on the annual BSA Jamboree On The Air (JOTA), which takes place over the weekend of October 17, 18, 19.
- The BIG DAY is SATURDAY, Oct. 18.

This is going to be a Fall Camporee that the Boys will talk about for years, and YOU can play a major role in making it happen!

SCENARIO
A significant Hurricane (Category 2-3) is forecast to hit coastal Fairfield, New Haven and Middlesex counties over Friday night (Oct. 17).

Since Boy Scouts are “Prepared”, they determine that East Scoutopia (Camp Pomperaug) is the least likely place in the State to be affected by the storm, and travel there on Friday to camp-out in safety.

However, when they wake up on Saturday, Oct. 18th, they discover a surprise that requires them to respond to the conditions they now face and do the things they need to do in order to help themselves and others survive until help arrives.

10 ACTIVITY STATIONS
In addition to the JOTA Specific Activity Stations (below), the Boy Scouts will be working on skills in: Shelter Building, First Aid, Finger Printing, Potable Water, Damage Survey & Map Reading, and Camp Service Projects (camp improvement).
