No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI thought this might be useful for our ARES members on a budget.

I recently found one of these Belkin battery backups at Goodwill for $7:

www.belkin.com/us/p/P-BU3DC001-12V/

These units plug into commercial power and come with a 12V output connector that fits perfectly into the charging cradle for the Baofeng radios. I've tested it with my radios and it works great. And, the whole unit fits nicely down into my "Go Kit". When deployed, this gives you the option of running off commercial power or directly from the 12V battery.

They contain the small brick Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) 12V 7 aH battery
- the same size that is sold and used in many small "Go Kits":

Some ARES members may have these units around the house already, if they were AT&T Uverse subscribers - I believe they were used with that service.

These units are also sold on ebay really cheap...less than $30 after shipping:

Its a great option to expand the operating time of a budget LOW POWER "Go Kit".
