The BIG find

A serial to USB adapter with the correct 25 pin connector for the TNC. It has the FTDI chipset so It will work great. I ordered one and mine works perfect . The only thing that you have to do, is after you plug the cable in you need to go into device manager to see what comm port number it assigned. This means no modifications to your TNC

I also found a terminal program that will work with our TNC’s. It is named Putty.
It does more than we need, however just configure it a serial , you can also save you setting.

I highly recommend getting the clock upgrade.
It is a real pain to reset the TNC with the current date and time.

It is very nice NOT having to go through this routine and remembering the sequence each time you pwer up the TNC
Change command
CMD:> DAYTIME (enter)
> DAYTIME (space space space) yymmddhhmmss (Enter)
