In order to be effective during times of need (when stress levels are already elevated), we all need to acquire and maintain "core competencies" in specific technologies and operating skills before that happens.

We are pleased to offer training workshops (free of charge) that are designed to give you a good solid foundation and/or get you back up to speed in each of the subjects presented.

Please make a point to attend each of these training workshops.

Already a “Pro” in any of these topics?
Please let me know!
- You can be of great help to your fellow ARES Team members.
And, who knows? You might even pick up one new idea. ;)

Workshops
January 3
Nets & Messages 101

FORMAL MESSAGES
As part of the basic Communicator Skills, each ARES TEAM Member is expected to KNOW how to CREATE, SEND and DELIVER a FORMAL MESSAGE using the National Traffic System (NTS) Radiogram.

This workshop segment is designed to give each person the opportunity to LEARN and PRACTICE: Creating, Sending and Delivering NTS Messages and HAVE FUN doing it.

Except for the few people here in Region 2 who are involved in the daily scheduled Traffic Nets, most of our ARES TEAM have not been near an NTS message in many moons. This will be a great TUNE-UP for anyone, and a good introduction for our New ARES TEAM Members.

NETS
As part of the basic Communicator Skills, each ARES TEAM Member is also expected to be able to RUN a Directed Net as a Net Control Station (NCS), as well as know how to participate in Net using proper standardized procedures.

Whether you are a new or long standing ARES TEAM Member, it is important to be on the same page - using the same standard procedures for running our ARES Nets. This workshop segment is designed to give each person the opportunity to LEARN and PRACTICE proper procedures to and HAVE FUN doing it.

BOTTOM LINE:
Expect to have a GOOD TIME in these sessions and gain some solid skills. :-)
